Sharing Charts in CRM Online
There is a good chance that your colleagues can benefit from the Charts you create in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2011. Instead of relaying the steps you took to create a Chart, you can Share it with other Users and Teams thanks to the Share functionality in CRM Online.
In this walkthrough, we are going to Share a custom Chart with two other CRM Online Users.
This task can be performed by Users with any of the default Security Roles in Microsoft CRM Online.
1. Navigate to the record type covered by the Chart that you wish to Share. In this example, we are sharing a custom bar chart that displays Accounts by state. To get to Accounts, navigate to the Sales module, and then click Accounts (see below). In the Charts tab of the ribbon, open the drop-down menu under the Chart Pane button, and then click Right. This allows you to view Charts in the right pane of your window.
2. Once the chart pane opens (see below), select the Chart you wish to Share using the drop-down menu at the top of the chart pane. (We selected the custom Chart, “Accounts by State” in our example. Your choices will be different.) Next, click Share in the Charts tab of the ribbon.
3. The Who Would You Like To Share The Selected User Chart With? dialog appears (see below). Click Add User/Team.
4. The Look Up Records dialog appears (see below). Use the Look for field, the View field, and the Search field to look up the Users or Teams with whom you wish to Share the Chart. Check the boxes next to their names. Then click the Add button and click OK.
5. You will then return to the Who Would You Like To Share The Selected User Chart With? dialog. This is where you specify which permissions to give each User or Team by using the checkboxes. When you are done, click OK.
The Chart is now accessable to these Users and will appear in their chart list.
